Okay this is my first post....ever. The first few things you'll notice is that I'm not much of a writer and I am somewhat a cynic with a bit of sarcastic humor, all that said I'd say that I PLAN to keep my posts short and sweet and I hope to include art tips that I pick up along with some interesting details...I hope. That's the plan, but luckily for me it is not written in stone or anything else!
My first item I want to mention is that I find it VERY annoying if I go to a blog and no where, anywhere, can you tell who's blog it is (read sarcasm here)....why don't you people identify yourselves or at least throw a crumb or two of evidence so we can figure it out.....why?
I just finished my first ever one person show, sorry to bore those who know me just skip down a ways, and I felt it was a success I sold a bunch (no, I'm not saying exactly) and was a nervous wreck until the thing came down on Sunday. Rephrase...until I took it down Sunday, loaded it into my car, Spackled all the holes, and brought the whole thing home. Now I'm done and I'm looking for a new show. I've been in several already this year, but now I feel better about the process so I'm ready.
Tip: use the same color on the gallery walls as your spackle, yes I'm saying match the walls to the spackle not the other way around...then you don't have to paint after you spackle!
Currently I'm working on some transfer ideas, postcards, canvases, and Kewpie dolls (yes I think I spelled it wrong but I like the way it looks, better), two are sold one is up for a trade and the other two are going to be something exciting. I'm pretty sure the pottery people don't read this so I'm revealing the fact that I'm experimenting with some wire wraps and fiberglass none of which should affect other pieces in the kiln so I glossed over answering the questions on what exactly was wrapped around them. If I thought it would make a difference I would tell them but I don't see panicing them for no reason. I do have some experience in this department although it was a really long time ago and maybe I forgot something........just kidding.
Oh yes last thing one of my friends, you know who you are, use to teach English so maybe as a learning experience for us all you can correct me if you want!!!
This wasn't short and sweet right out of the box........I'll do better.
