DOLLY & PET PART3

Well she's a tattooed baby and her pet has a new leash. Now she's really getting fun! I think I have a really ggod solution to attaching the Pet!

DOLLY AND PET

Here is a little more on my altered dolly and her new pet. I got this little guy at an estate sale and decided to use him with my altered dolly. I haven't exactly decided how to attach him yet I have a few ideas, I do know that he will be probably near her neck and shoulders as if he was sitting there. He's in pretty bad shape so I have been doing some repair work. I have the holes punched in my tin to connect the lights with glue and wire. The two objects in the jar lid (which will fit in her stomach) will be on the little decorative chain that connects the alligator to the dolly's shoulder.

NEW CROW COMMISSION PIECE

Got a new crow commission from my show I started yesterday here's where I am today. It's mostly roughed in but obviously it's not balanced yet taking color out and adding it back in takes a little time and observation.

HIGHLANDER CATTLE

Well the Scottish cattle, Highlanders, are out and about a few miles from where I live. I just find these guys so interesting. They don't let them out as much in the winter but judging from their coats I'm sure they would be fine. There is a new baby, he's black and looks a little like a rock, in the photo. I was wondering, when I took these pictures, how you would transport these guys, they have impressive horns. It almost certainly has to be done in seperate areas of a truck or they would poke each other and I'm guessing they are pricey little devils!

Here are the other walls I didn't shoot before. One fun item a Japanese film crew did a small film clip in the gallery last night, so hopefully they got some good shots of our stuff.

Here's a couple of shots of the walls the others I will get later today we had a great opening and sold a bunch between us and I got a commission for another painting, yea!! I have a couple of days to exhale and catch up on reading and brushing the Newfs. The Newfs are blowing their coats like mad, hair is everywhere.

CURIOSITIES, THE SAGA OF A SHOW

I decided to name my show "curiosities" for obvious reasons, although I guess I could have called it side show but I wanted something short and snappy. The first shot is my studio wall right before my little stuff was packed away. The next is my bedroom with a couple of paintings and my boxes. I should mention here that Hani the Wonder Newf ate a roof off of one of my light boxes. So a last minute roof had to be made yesterday, it came out okay but we both liked the other better. He loves to go through my stuff in my studio and this was too good to pass up. Here is the gallery with the light boxes and small assemblages up and my signage. Tomorrow we should finish and I will take some shots of that plus during our opening. I'm getting excited I have a good feeling about this show.

THE ALTERED DOLL PROJECT

I was asked to participate in an altered doll show coming up in about a month. This is the doll I'm using, she has a lot of smoke damage from a fire in spite of that I like the random patterns of smoke on her head, arms and legs.She's a big girl to she measures 28 inches head to toe. Also her eyes are a weird gold-ish color with cracks through them, probably from the heat. I did end up sealing the arms and legs because she smelled like a camp fire!!! The slit in the stuffing, which, for some reason doesn't have any odor, is being removed to accommodate a small assemblage with lights which will go into her body. Or at least that's the current plan. The jar lid, sitting next to her is one thing I might use for the assemblage.

DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE

My final piece before the show next week and he's kinda cute I think. Love this rabbit, it reminds me of our cat, Twister who is a Manx and except for the ears & wings looks just like this when he runs!! Again a light box I think I have found some lights with cords....I'm torn because I like the clean simple lines without the distraction of a cord....these guys really use the batteries....so, what to do??
