Just a few details of my installation from my show, which by the way, if you haven't seen it and are in Denver swing in and check it out at Core New Art Space. Unless, you are a big fan of landscapes then probably don't bother. The first picture is JarJar (a little pet name) who is the last pure thing in some universe or time period. He's got a couple of trees which can't be seen well growing under the pressure gauge of his head and is mounted on a tilling blade. Subtle eye chart gives something for the eye between the wall piece and the next part of the install.

The next piece is an old organ or player piano skeleton which serves as a nice representation of our urban world, mounted on it are two very nice Fiat horns, three oil cans are mounted on the piano skeleton along with a carved wooden angel. Tubing runs from JarJar down the wall and behind the piano. All of this sits on two old bricks and two old ledgers from the stock yard.

The tubing acts as both a transition and a disguise for the light tube running behind. The light is a little too subtle but it's purpose is to light up the area under JarJar's head and cast shadows. The final part of the installation is is a large glass floor piece with bones that I gathered from my friend the mountain who leaves all sorts of things scattered behind my house. This is either the final resting point or the place where it all starts. There is a pile of rock salt where the tubes are attached. Salt is an interesting substance that has a number of creepy old myths built up around it. One being that it drives away evil and sterilizes. I used the glass because of the jarring contrast between the clean shiny glass and the old bones.
