The crow is now encased in the book, he's being clamped and glued. I'm a little concerned about the weight of the book on his noggin. I was careful to make sure that most the weight is in the center rather than the outside.
I have this totally cool crow head which I'm going to use in my altered book. The album pocket has to be fairly deep leaving just a few pages left over to alter. I may make it the theme of the book, I have some feathers and some Blue Jay feet that may become a part of it as well.
This was a fun project that I had set various goals for myself when I do that I notice that I tend to get more intense and find it difficult to pull myself away to do necessary things. This piece is almost done but not quite. Tomorrow I want to start my altered book so most of my main objectives need to be met.
Started another painting I had one frame left after my show and just did not have time to work on another so I started this one. I have used the "4 eyed" lamb before in an assemblage and was interested in him as a painting. Sheep seem to have more than their fair share of genetic abnormalities with a number of incomplete twinning that results in extra legs or heads or eyes. That's the stuff that fascinates me. Also the guy in the neighboring studio, Dave Wyzenbeek, did a bunch of studies in mono print of tornadoes so I decided it would be fun to try one as well. Next I'm going to work on another altered book and hope to have it finished by the art students league summer art fair.
Well drummer is 4 and 1/2 months old or 18 weeks however you look at it. Two weeks ago he was 62 pounds and growing. Thought I would put up some pictures of how he has grown since we got him almost three months ago.
Also I haven't posted for a couple of weeks because I took a 2 week break from the opening of two shows which always drains me but I am gearing up again got some ideas and ready to work again.
