ANOTHER MOTHER'S DAY CLASS

Here's the second class for those in the Denver area.

great for Mother’s Day!
Why not spend some down time transferring an image that I print for you on a special
transfer paper that uses alcohol (not the drinking kind) for a special photo transfer
technique. You will first create an intuitive collage that you will tie together with
background techniques which include paint, stencils, resists and more. Fun, relaxing
and totally creative.
this class is $75 a head, if you bring a friend then $65 for each head

I will have a variety of things for use from my personal stash
You might consider bringing:
small personal collage items, personal paper, photos, etc
a small gesso board found at Michaels or Hobby Lobby also check out the dry
transfers and other
fun stuff by Tim Holt, great for the vintage look
paint in the colors you love
glue, gel medium or Modge Podge I will have some available

CLASSES

I'm teaching a couple of classes in May which might be of interest to some in the Denver area here is the first one.

DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE SHRINES
great mothers day gift

Students will use Alice in Wonderland ideas and objects, to create small reliquaries; intimate spaces housing celebrating the idea and feeling of a chapter out of Wonderland, whether you fancy the Cheshire Cat aspect or the White Rabbit, it will be fun. This workshop will cover several methods of assembly as we put the unusual and unlike materials together. Bring those things that you've been saving for something special and make a down the rabbit hole shrine worthy of them. You can use a cigar box which or a small tin or….use your imagination.
This will be a 4 hour class, with a break for wine (water, of course) and cupcakes.
Students may not finish in class time but I am always available for help later.

THE FLYING DISTOPIAN JAVELINA

I have a few tweaks for this one but mostly done, in addition he has 4 full length movies so far and a moving tail on a motion sensor......       :)

 

GHOSTS

I'm still working with negative space, my first love and using, instead of collage abstract painting as an under painting. This one is complete until it's not.

NEW PAINTING

Been working on this one fairly large 30 x 40, not quite done but getting there. here is the progression so far including original photo I was working from.

 

EVOLUTION OF A PAINTING

Sometimes things don't go as planned. Other times it blows you away how effortless and easy something was....... this guy has not gone as planned at all, well actually the plan was loosely conceived but there was as much a plan as there ever is. Found a really nice night cam shot of a fox and decided to use it as the basic "plan". Stay tuned more to come.......

Working on this guy, in between other things, he's a little complicated so I need to take time to think about what I want to do and how to do it.

GHOSTS

Just trying new things while keeping the "stuff" I like! This is almost finished, I think it will start a series. It's oil, acrylic, pencil, pastel, charcoal on board, 40x30x3, available soon.

 

STARTING OVER

Ok got up this morning and hated the painting I started so I started over. Use to do horses but I stopped when I went to art school cause I thought they weren't  a serious subject. So thought I would try again since I'm in total experimentation mode so

I just drew these guys in and am thinking.....
